Have You Heard the Neuss?

Woke up refreshed, got some groceries, and headed to our next destination. On our way to Neuss, we stopped in Cologne for a picnic and an outdoor rehearsal. Tonight’s gig was a Sofa Concert called Rhinestage, hosted by Maik and Silke. We were greeted with coffee and cookies and enjoyed them by the Rhein with our hosts and their daughter. We settled in to their beautiful home and they showed us the outdoor space we’d be playing. Had a minute to unwind while Maik set up his new sound system. People started to arrive with food, dogs, kids.

We played 2 sets, with a mingle and fire-lighting in between. It was a perfect “welcome back” to Germany. The kids presented us with bracelets to take along with us. Hung out with guests post-show, learned some new German words, got a bit of dog time. Wiir leiben hunde.

In the  morning, Silke prepared a delicious breakfast spread including fresh figs from their garden. They set us up with a snack pack for the road and we were off to Maintal.
